NameStick Setup InstructionsImportant information regarding your domain name you purchased from NameStick.com (We highly recommend bookmarking this page). Important Note -- Please remember that new domains will take up to 72 hours to become available across the Internet AFTER you set up the domain forwarding.
Or, if you a brand new customer, this entire page will walk you through, step-by-step, setting up and using your NameStick domain.
Congratulations, Your domain name is now enabled with our industry-breakthrough NameStick forwarding service - giving you advanced domain forwarding and email forwarding service without the expensive costs normally associated with custom programming and hosting services. Isn't it exciting!?! Below are the Set Up Instructions to start using your domain with NameStick service. Please remember that new domains will take up to 72 hours to become available across the Internet. And new accounts will take 1-2 hours to become live and available for you to login. For your records, your credit card was charged for the registration of the domain This charge will appear on your statement as: Using our EZManager interface, you can easily manage both your NameStick service and the contact information for your domain name. Note: new accounts will take 1-2 hours to become live and available for you to login.
Go to this webpage: Login with your domain name (minus the www.) And then enter the UserName and Password you entered while registering for this domain. We recommend you write this information down right now so you do not forget it. If you have forgotten your login info, please retrieve it using the password retrieval tool at the bottom of the page. Once you are logged in you will see the main menu for managing the CONTACT information for your domain name. Click on the hyperlinked text "NameStick DNS" located in the top navigation bar. This is the area to manage the FORWARDING service of your domain. When you are in this NameStick Forwarding (DNS) administration area, there only 2 items you will ever need or want to change. They are: Web Forwards
Now click on "Web Forwards".
1) Do NOT type anything in the box where it says "New Domain" 2) In the white box under "Destination", enter the exact location (full website address) you want your new domain to forward to. Please be sure to include the http:// for the website address or else it will not work correctly. 3) Click the white box under "Cloaked" so that a check mark appears in it. This keeps your domain name in the address bar instead of showing the affiliate or website link it is being forwarded to. If only want to use regular, basic forwarding, then leave this box unchecked. 4) Click the button labeled "Add New" 5) On the new page that appears, click on the top box marked "Yes"
It is important that you first setup your main domain forwarding for both 'yourdomain.com' and .www.yourdomain.com'.
NOTE: Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, and Step 4 may not appear in your management area until after the forwarding (Steps 1-5) has spread across the Internet (normally within 72 hours). If you do not see the Title, Keywords, and Description fields it now, log in and check at a later time.
2) Under "Meta Keywords" enter at least 5 words (or more) that describe or relate to your business, site, industry or whatever you are doing. Be sure to separate each word by a comma. You may enter up to to 150 characters (approximately 25 words) or as few as you like, but we suggest using at least 5. Keywords do not need to be in any particular order of importance. Meta keywords are used by search engines to index your site, so people can find your site when they enter those keywords.
3) Under "Meta Description" enter a short one sentence description of why someone should visit your site. Meta description tags are used by search engines to show the user a one-line description of what your site contains.
4) Click "Change Meta Tags" and then on the new page click "Yes" and your Title and Meta tags will be added to your domain and your sub-domains.
You have now created the website forwarding for your new domain. It will be live across the internet within the next 72 hours.
1) Once logged in as described above, click on the "Mail Forward" link near the top of the page. 2) Leave the field blank in the white box under "New Email" 3) Enter your current email address in the white box under "Destination" 4) Click the button marked "Add New" 5) Click the "Yes" button Now ANY email that is sent to any username at your new domain will be automatically forwarded to your existing email address. For example, email sent to info@domainname.com or yourfirstname@domainname.com , etc will all go to the email address you entered above. To setup a specific email forward, follow the above steps, except in Step 2, enter the specific email forward you want to use.
